Honda rancher no spark
I have a 2010 rancher Fourtrax, efi eps es, all the electrical crap, parked it for a week, and went to start it, and it just cranks away with a blinking (-). I have replaced the Gear Position sensor, fuel pump relay, cleaned the es motor, cleaned most of the connectors, and re soldered all the ignition switch wires and yes i have checked the fuses.If the spark is weak, the spark inside the tool will appear yellow-red and have a more inconsistent spark pattern. Now that you have verified that there is no spark, it’s time to begin troubleshooting. 2. Make Sure the Kill Switch Is On. The ATV will not create a spark when the kill switch is off.There is an 8mm shaft coming out of the front of the motor, goes through the shift motor gear assembly. Put a 8mm wrench or socket on it and try to shift it up and down. If that works than your problems are electric. If that doesn't work than you have a mecanical problem.

I've got a 200 Honda Rancher 350 that had been sitting up for over a year. I replaced the carburetor, choke cable, air filter, spark plug, battery and changed the oil. I had some trouble with the carburetor a while back, so i figured I'd go ahead and replace it this time. It was only $40-$50 anyways.Try the old Plug again and NOTHING. A tiny crack in the insulator that you will never see with the naked eye won't matter when not under compression. But add 170 +/- PSI of compression and the energy will find that crack as the shortest path to ground. Spark PLUGS are too cheap not to give a new set a try.
To test the stator, find the three yellow wires coming from the stator and unplug the connector. Check resistance between each of the three yellow wires. You're looking for 0.09-0.11 ohms or somewhere close to that, doesn't have to be exact. Now, test for continuity between each yellow wire and ground.I have a 2005 honda rancher 350fm 4x4 with no fire to spark plug. I have a bran new plug, had coil tested. Tested good. bolin03. Actually you can start an ES model in gear by pulling in the front brake and it will start in gear no problem. If it's getting spark, then I would guess the fuel pump is getting hot and getting to weak too pump sufficiently. Most 4-wheeler problems are caused by a loose nut connecting the handlebars and the seat!! You only need two tools in life -- WD-40 and duct tape.
