This will at least let you determine whether the governor mod may be to blame. I'm not advocating the governor's removal here.too much oil can cause damage but it will take a lot of extra oil for that to happen. probably will smoke it too overfull. you may want to till at 3/4 throttle to spin the cooling fan faster on the motor. this will help it to stay cool. some pics of the pulley would be nice maybe we can get you fixed up with reverse!
