2001 Honda Rubicon 500. I have had the same problem happen over and over again. My wheeler gets "stuck" in 1st gear and makes noice when in reverse. The first time I took it to a mechanic, he replaced the sub-transmission, he replaced the angel censor, he also replaced the ecm and battery. Not more than 2 weeks later and $2000 out of my pocket ...The problem is in the failure of the bearings and pistons and valves in the hydraulic system between the clutch gear to the outer pump housing on the clutch side and the output shaft of the hondamatic on the flywheel side.
